This LP is an interesting hodgepodge of Miles Davis recordings. Davis is heard with his classic quintet playing "Sweet Sue" and "Budo," with large orchestras performing "Jazz Suite for Brass" and "Three Little Feelings" early third-stream works that put the spotlight totally on Davis 's fluegelhornon a couple of odd tracks from with vocalist Bob Dorough "Devil May Care" and "Blue Xmas" and, most significantly, on four numbers arranged by Michel Legrand for an piece group in that also feature altoist Phil WoodsJohn Coltrane and pianist Bill Evans.

Dec 11,  · Miles Davis was, and still is, ahead of his times. He created this wonderful song dedicated to whom that don't like Christmas, a masterpiece. In when Columbia wanted Davis to contribute a song to the "Jingle Bell Jazz" album, Davis complained, "What the f*ck am I supposed to play for them? ‘White Christmas’?" in perfect Miles style.
