The Syn were formed as a result of the merger of two London bands - High Court and The Selfs, who previously competed with each Move Closer (Instrumental) - Zee* - Move Closer for the title of the leading rhythm and blues group of Hampstead. Under the influence of Andrew Jackman, the group mainly focused on the material Tamla Motown, which at that time was considered a rarity.
