Small Faces were an English rock band from Londonfounded in The band was one of the most acclaimed and influential mod groups of the s, [2] [3] recording hit songs such as " Itchycoo Park ", " Lazy Sunday ", " All or Nothing ", and " Tin Soldier ", as well as their concept album Ogdens' Nut Gone Flake. They later evolved into one of the UK's most successful psychedelic bands until Small Faces didn't disband when Marriott left to form Humble Pie.

The remaining three members collaborated with Ronnie WoodRonnie's older brother Art WoodRod Stewart and Kim Gardner releasing four tracks under the name of Quiet Melon, after which Art Wood and Kim Gardner departed the situation and the remaining five members became Faces[6] [7] except in North America, where this group's first album was credited to Small Faces. This practice has continued on all subsequent North American reissues of the album. A revived version of the original Small Faces existed from to Small Faces were one of the biggest musical influences on the Britpop movement of the s.

The two-act concept album consisted of six original songs on side one and a whimsical psychedelic fairy tale on side two relating the adventures of "Happiness Stan" and his need to find out where the moon went when it waned.

Aug 20,  · Both bands were great, but a bit different in terms of sound. I'm not sure that all fans of The Faces albums from the 70s will necessarily love this too, but they should check it out anyway. This Small Faces collection covers their music from the mid to late 60s/5(85).
